Allie and Ben’s big day was filled with colour, soul and melody, a music festival tailored just for them. And it was awesome.
Welcome to the Pike Photography blog, it’s only taken me 7 years to make a start, but hey, there were lots of weddings to shoot! If like me you are sitting at home in lock down please let the colour, joy and love in these photos from a classic Pike Photography wedding be a reminder of brighter days past, and soon to come. Allie and Ben’s wedding really rocked…
Retro glam bride Allie wore a super cute 50's inspired a-line tea length dress which she accompanied uniquely with a leather jacket and sequin Converse All Stars. Allie's bridesmaids perfectly complimented her look in colourful Lindy bop dresses and denim jackets. Bride and groom's gorgeous daughter Honor was not left out either, rocking adorable pigtails, denim jacket and dinky All Star pumps of her own. The wedding morning was electric with excitement, anticipation and big hair rollers!
Dapper groom Ben wore a vintage inspired cheque, three piece suit with hints of navy velvet. Despite some pre-ceremony nerves this cheeky chappy made sure that everyone was having fun all day with belly laughs a plenty.
Allie and Ben transformed the rustic stable barn at Tewinbury Barns in Hertfordshire into their own mini rock and roll festival. Their colourful music theme utterly woven into every detail. Guests wore VIP gig wristbands, tables were named using classic vinyl albums, and mini vinyl records adorned their wedding cake cupcakes, complete with tiny classic album covers!
Embracing the rain and the grey skies
Try as we might, we just can’t predict our ever changeable UK weather. Despite grey skies and heavy rain throughout most of the day, Allie's bold colour scheme shone through. With a little help from studio flashes used on location we made the most of this to create some gorgeously unique photographs together! From a visual standpoint I always embrace a bit of wedding day rain, there are epic photos to be had as a result. And what could be more romantic than kissing in the rain?
