Hertfordshire Wedding Venues

I photograph weddings up and down the country but Hertfordshire is my home and where I work the most. Having had the privilege of photographing hundreds of weddings across this county, I am always happy to share my experience of some of the best Hertfordshire wedding venues. The only trouble is knowing where to start!

Country Tipis

How about (almost) anywhere? Country Tipis can plonk a massive tipi down at one of their own stunning venues (such as Vanstone Park or Beaumont Hall), or a suitable location of your own - it’s the perfect way of creating your very own festival wedding!

Here’s the story of Sarah and James’ perfect tipi wedding in St Albans.

Lodge Farm Kings Walden

Lodge Farm in Kings Waldon near Hitchin is a beautiful place to say ‘I do’. Couples have exclusive use of the Farm House and their magical secret garden which is perfect for a tipi and situated within beautiful rolling countryside. If you have been anywhere else on my website you will know how much I love working with Country Tipis and photographing tipi weddings set against the stunning backdrops that their tipis and venues provide.

You have to see Sophie and Tim’s magical wedding day at Lodge Farm!

Hotel Cromwell

Hotel Cromwell in Stevenage Old Town is a beautiful boutique hotel within a 16th Century building, making it a unique venue for a wedding. It is so named because it was once the home of John Thurloe, secretary and master spy to Oliver Cromwell himself. Stylish boutique features and compact but pretty outdoor spaces make this one of my favourite places to photograph weddings. Vintage features, open fireplaces, and wood panelled rooms also create cosy winter vibes, making this a great choice for a winter wedding (something which is a Pike Photography speciality).

Tewin Bury Farm Hotel

If you are dreaming of a rustic barn wedding in Hertfordshire you’d be hard pressed to find a better option than Tewin Bury Farm Hotel. Its picturesque setting right on the River Mimram is home to a selection of converted barns and stables catering for all sizes of weddings.

The Barns at Redcoats

Alternatively, The Barns at Redcoats at the Farm House at Redcoats Hotel has enchanting Grade II listed barns within beautifully landscaped gardens. It’s a fine choice for couples who are looking for a venue with quirky historic features and a reputation for throwing amazing weddings!

Here’s the story of Sarah and Jack’s gorgeous wedding at The Barns at Redcoats

Brook Farm Cuffley

This idyllic lake side tipi venue has to be one of the most magical places in Hertfordshire to say “I do”. Then party your wedding day away surrounded by beautiful countryside. Wedding celebrations at Brook Farm are held adjacent to a beautiful lake surrounded by wild flowers and elegant tall pine trees. Oh, and there is a walkway over to an island giving the wow factor that we all secretly want on our big day!

Micklefield Hall

Micklefield Hall is a stunning country venue that features a grade II listed tithe barn and it’s own temple that sits atop a beautiful reflective pond. This has to be one of the most stunning locations for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the county!

St Michael’s Manor

Nestled in 12 acres of Hertfordshire countryside in St Albans, Sopwell House is a 4 star Georgian country house hotel. This elegant and photogenic wedding venue is a firm Pike Photography favourite! Alternatively, St Michaels Manor, located in the historic conservation area of St Albans is a beautifully romantic setting. Complete with splendid gardens laid out around its very own lake, gorgeous wedding photos are guaranteed.

St Albans Cathedral

St Albans is also home to a magnificent cathedral. You might be lucky enough to say your vows in the abbey (and walk hand in hand with your newly wed down the longest naïve in the country!) or just wish to use the building and its historic grounds as a backdrop. Either way, it’s a stunning place to take wedding photos.

Luton Hoo

Located just outside Luton within an 1,065 acre estate on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, Luton Hoo is a five star Mansion House hotel with royal history, marble interiors and beautiful period rooms. This venue is all out luxury!

Dunton Lodge Farm

Based on a working farm, Dunton Lodge Farm offers an idyllic setting within beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. With wide vistas in every direction this is a gorgeous place to photograph (and has provided some of the most spectacular sunset backdrops that I have photographed!).

St Albans Registry Office

The St Albans register office which is located in the gatehouse of a Victorian prison and fronted with well tended rose gardens. This is one of my most frequented Hertfordshire wedding venues. Be that for intimate micro weddings or as part of larger wedding day celebrations.

Hertford Registry Office

The Hertford register office at County Hall, a Grade II listed building complete with elegant archways that are just perfect for those post-ceremony photos.

The Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club

The Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club has a grand Broxbournebury Mansion set amidst acres and acres of Hertfordshire countryside - which you can explore in a golf buggy on your wedding day!

Here is the story of Gemma and Callum’s beautiful autumn wedding at The Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club.

Coltsfoot Country Retreat

Coltsfoot Country Retreat weddings are enchanting. Within the beautiful surroundings of rural Hertfordshire, this boutique venue has extensive grounds and gardens. The converted barn at Coltsfoot Country Retreat is lighter than most with panoramic views out over the countryside.

Offley Place

Nestled in the North Hertfordshire countryside, Offley Place is a romantic and picturesque wedding venue. Its 17th-century manor house and landscaped gardens exude charm and elegance, providing a captivating backdrop for weddings.

Fanhams Hall

There is a medieval hall, a Jocobean Mansion and a Japanese tea house all within this one Hertfordshire wedding venue. Fanhams Hall then is a stunning wedding venue with an abundance of beautiful wedding photography opportunities!

We cannot thank Stephen enough for being so kind, accommodating and the ultimate professional. We are not ones for the limelight but we felt immediately comfortable around Stephen, like we were with a friend we’d known for years! Thank you doesn’t do justice and Stephen absolutely deserves every credit for his work. He captured every precious moment and detail of our wedding day and it means so much to us to have those memories, which we will look back on with so much joy and happiness forever.

Thank you so much for everything.
